Мета: Підсилити мотивацію до вивчення англійської мови; сприяти практичному володінню мовленнєвою діяльністю; підвищувати активний мовленнєвий запас учнів; розширювати загальний кругозір школярів; підвищувати їх культурний рівень; розвивати творчі здібності учнів.
Мета заходу:
Практична узагальнити основні поняття, лексичні одиниці з теми
«Environmental Protection»; практикувати в усному мовленні; вдосконалювати навички аудіювання та читання.

Обладнання: Відеофільми (2шт), презентація, пісня: “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong , доповіді учнів, картки.
Хід конференції.
Dear, students! I am glad to see you. I’m sure that you are full of energy and ready to do our lesson interesting and rich. Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. I propose you to watch a short video and try to guess what we are going to speak about at our lesson . video 1.
What is the topic of our lesson? Today we are going to discuss the problem of environmental protection. You know that people all over the world are worried about our environment. And we shall find out “Why is recycling important?”
Imagine that one night you’ve seen a dream:
“Dear boys and girls,
Take care of me. I’m ill. My water is polluted. The air is dirty. Don’t cut down the forests . Plant a tree a year. Don’t kill animals and birds.
They may all disappear.
Never throw or break glass bottles. You pollute
the land. Take what you need from me. You are my parts.
So, keep me clean and healthy for future generations,
Love, your Earth”.

Teacher: Dear children! Today we have a press-conference «Travelling to the English-Speaking Countries».

Our main aim is to improve our knowledge, to learn new words and expressions, to listen to some new and interesting information about English-Speaking countries and to do some tests.
Imagine that the delegations from the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand came to our gymnasia.
Will you present us your country.
Pupil 1: The United Kingdom is situated off the northwest coast of Europe between the Atlantic Ocean on the north and northwest and the North Sea on the east. It is separated from the Continent by the English Channel. The United Kingdom includes Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Isles of Man and Channel Islands. Great Britain, the largest island in Europe, contains England, Scotland and Wales.

Pupil 2: The United Kingdom has an area of 94,249 square miles. The population of the United Kingdom is 56,6 million people. The capital of the country is London. English is the official language. The climate of Great Britain is temperate and mild. It is never hot in summer or too cold in winter. It often rains in England. The surface of England and Ireland is flat, but Scotland and Wales are mountainous.
Pupil 3: The main rivers are the Thames, the Severn, the Clyde, the Trent and the Mersey. The longest river is the Severn. The largest cities of the country are London, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff, Glasgow. The important ports are London, Cardiff, Glasgow. There are many universities, colleges, libraries, museums and theatres in the country. The most famous universities are Cambridge University, Oxford University, Glasgow University.

Мета:
практична: активізувати лексику за темою, практикувати учнів у вживанні тематичної лексики, формувати навички говоріння на рівні мікровисловлювання та тренувати в читанні;
освітня: розширити знання учнів з даної теми;
розвиваюча: розвивати комунікативні навички, мовну здогадку, уяву, пам’ять, увагу, творчість;
виховна: формувати навички культури харчування, виховувати культуру спілкування, зацікавленість у розширенні своїх знань.
